Rest and Reflection

I’ve been spending more time resting than normal, and I’m not gonna lie I love it but hate it.  The go go go part of me wants to be productive all the time while the reflective and calm side of me knows I need time for rest and reflection.  If not checked the #guiltmonster will set its claws in deep!

.

Here are some ways that I keep my “guilt monster” from running the show!

.

I try to check in with myself throughout the day.  I take note of how I’m feeling physically and emotionally and where my mood or thoughts are hanging (negative, positive, or blah land!).  After my check in I try my hardest to address what is coming up for me in that moment and give myself permission...yes you heard that right.  I give myself permission to feel the feels and be in the moment.  If my mood is shit I try to do something that makes me feel good, usually a walk or a bath or yoga or quiet time.

.

Now you try!

.

How are you feeling physically and emotionally? How are you thoughts?  Are you in a negative or positive thought pattern?

.

Once you have checked in with yourself, stop and ask yourself what it is you need in that moment? How can it be implemented in your day/week/month/life?

.

Then do it!

.

No excuses. Start small.

.

Practice checking in with your heart, mind, body and soul daily.  Listen to your gut and follow your instincts.  It takes time to develop a mindfulness practice but well worth the energy and effort!

.

Hit me up if you want help with your mindfulness practice, I’m here!

With Light & Love,

Jess
